Photographs documenting natural resources, conservation, commercial industries, recreation, and public relations activities in Wisconsin under the direction of or of interest to the Wisconsin Conservation Department, 1930 - 1942. Additionally there are images of Native Americans, especially the Menominee. Natural resources documented include local and state parks, state forests, lakes and rivers, and scenery around the Wisconsin Dells. Conservation activities include forest, fish, animal, and game management. Commercial industries include fishing, logging, and shipping. Chapter 426, Laws of 1927, created the Conservation Department. From 1915-1927, a full-time Conservation Commission (WIHV86-A1162) had directly administered the state's conservation programs.
